Frequency Band
Based on your network application, select the band or frequency appropriate for your network. Public Safety Networks in the USA operate at either 700-800, VHF or UHF Frequencies.
Type
Type refers to the physical construction characteristics of the antenna and plays a role in the performance and application of the antenna. Public safety networks typically utilize one of the three options shown in the drop-down menu.
Polarization
Polarization refers to the direction of the electromagnetic fields produced by the antenna as energy radiates away from it. Most public safety antennas manufactured by Alive Telecom are vertically polarized.
Azimuth Pattern
Azimuth refers to the “horizon” or “horizontal plane”. The azimuth pattern shows how the antenna radiates on the horizontal plane. Alive offers azimuth patterns that radiate equally in all directions (omni) and also patterns where the energy is focused in a specific direction (directional).
Your selected pattern can be reviewed and the image downloaded prior to purchase
Gain
Measured in dBd, the gain is how much the antenna amplifies the signal relative to an ideal dipole. The gain describes how well the antenna converts electrical power into radio waves in a certain direction or vice versa.
(values are in dBd)
Dual Input
Dual input antennas allow for having two separate antennas in one fixture or apparatus.
